Apply early decision and to non-biology majorJan 07 2010Other
Apply early decision and to non-biology major. You can easily change your major (unless it's to biomedical engineering) once you're in. Also, meet with the regional admission officer for your high school. They'll be the ones reading your apps.

I didn't really worry too much about getting inNov 22 2009Other
I didn't really worry too much about getting in. I was salutatorian of my high school and I did well on my placement exams so I felt as if I was a good candidate. I was also a recruited athlete, which definitely helped me get into the school. I would recommend for students who want to come here that they take the hardest classes in high school and to do their best in the classes. Try to get really involved in one particular activity outside of school, it shows your interests. Also, if you really love Hopkins, apply early decision. Hop has one of the highest early acceptance rates amongst top schools.

Johns Hopkins was my first choice school, above other elite institutions as well as state schools.
Be open and honest in your application. Sign up for the optional interview; it helps!
JHU is NOT for everyone and Admissions does a pretty good job of admitting those who would fit in here.
